I can attest to this; I started to notice it a while ago too. However, there were instances where my pet's agility was delayed or slowed down, regardless of the number of NPCs I was facing.

Will make a comparison type GIF when I get the chance.

When raiding villages, the agility of pet is lower when battling 3 enemies compared to 2 enemies.
