Guard Buff Empty Guard Buff

Was guard buff removed? Bugged? Reconfigured?

I fought two players awhile ago. One is a genin and the other is a chunin, they don't the guard buff nor unyielding buff icon but I can't debuff them. Though, I was able to inflict more than 1 dmg against them(600+).
